Worcester, MA – The Saint Vincent Hospital Education and Research Fund—a not-for-profit, charitable foundation—is the proud recipient of a $500 donation from one of Shaw’s Supermarkets 2006 Associates of the Year honorees.
Each year, Shaw’s recognizes a group of its associates for their outstanding commitment to customer service, community involvement, and team work. Sixteen associates were selected at the end of last year and each was given the opportunity to donate $500 to a charity of their choice. This year Auburn resident Debra Kesseli, who works at the Shaw’s Supermarket in Medway, selected the Saint Vincent Hospital Education and Research Fund to receive this award.
“We are very proud and honored that Ms. Kesseli thought of us for this donation,” noted Anthony Esposito, M.D., President of the Saint Vincent Hospital Education and Research Fund. “Because of her generosity we will be able to purchase educational videos for use by patients and families; support the attendance of our nursing staff at cancer management meetings, and so much more.”
Incorporated in 1999 by individuals who had a long-standing commitment to the Hospital and who possessed a deep interest in maintaining the Hospital’s rich history of patient-focused, scholarly and educational activities, the Fund promotes and underwrites medical scholarship and advanced training for the Hospital’s dedicated healthcare providers. The Fund also supports educational activities that benefit patients and families.
