Saint Vincent Hospital Announces

New Board Members

 

Worcester, MASaint Vincent Hospital, a 348-bed acute care hospital providing general and tertiary medical services to residents of Worcester and Central Massachusetts, announces the appointment of three new board members who will each serve an initial 3-year term of office. John Medbury, Executive Director of Bowditch & Dewey, LLP; Charles F. Monahan, Jr., President of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services; and Catherine Loeffler, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Worcester, will each officially begin serving on the Saint Vincent Hospital Board of Trustees on January 1, 2007.

As the Executive Director for Bowdith & Dewey, John Medbury manages the administration of the firm and is responsible for formulating and implementing major firm strategies and policies in the areas of human resources, finance, information systems, marketing, facilities, and general administration. He brings with him a wealth of management experience including 30 years of managing law firms and accounting firms in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Colorado.

 

Charles F. Monahan, Jr., became the 5th President of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services (MCPHS) in 1997. Under his leadership, MCPHS has experienced unprecedented growth in enrollment, physical facilities, research and endowment. Between 2000 and the present, he has directed the development of a new school of pharmacy housed in a $50 million campus in downtown Worcester.  His efforts made possible a $100 million expansion and revitalization of the Boston campus from 1996 to the present, encompassing 326,000 new square feet of research, classroom, student residence and administrative space.

 

Cathy Loeffler, Executive Director of the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Worcester since 1991, is responsible for administrating Catholic Charities’ human service corporation which includes programs that provide food and shelter to the homeless and offer education, counseling, and job-training skills to individuals with developmental disabilities. Her clinical, management, and administrative experience spans 35 years and includes work in the fields of Child Welfare, Medical Social Work, Family Service and Developmental Disabilities. She has worked in urban and rural communities across three states and in both the private and public sectors.
