Podiatry Department

The human foot has been called the mirror of health. Foot doctors, or doctors of podiatric medicine (DPMs), are often the first doctors to see signs of such systemic conditions as diabetes, arthritis, and circulatory disease in the foot. Among these signs are dry skin, brittle nails, burning and tingling sensations, feelings of cold, numbness, and discoloration. Always seek professional care when these signs appear.

At Saint Vincent Hospital our medical and surgical podiatrists are trained to treat all facets involving the foot and ankle. We provide services for diabetic foot and wound care, sports medicine as it relates to the foot and ankle with videotape analysis, biomechanical evaluation of the patient’s stance and gait cycle with dispensing of orthodics and leg braces for congenital, inherited, neurological and traumatic injuries of the foot and ankle, systemic diseases as they relate to the ankle, 24-hour Emergency Department care and surgery of the foot and ankle. The department is staffed with 26 podiatrists from the Worcester County Area.
