Saint Vincent Hospital’s Health For Life Community Benefits Program Awards Grants
Saint Vincent Hospital’s Health for Life Community Benefits Program has awarded 13 grants to a variety of charitable organizations in the Greater Worcester and Central Massachusetts area.The grant awards were presented at a special luncheon reception held on Friday, June 15th at the hospital.
Each year the program seeks out grant proposals for health-related initiatives that serve vulnerable populations throughout the region.This year the grants covered a full spectrum of projects and services including a medical interpreter program; a structured exercise program designed to improve the health of those with mental illness; and providing support and prenatal care for women in crisis pregnancies.
The 13 organizations to benefit from the hospital’s 2012 grant funding were: American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts; Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Worcester; Dismas House of MA, Inc.; Edward M.Kennedy Community Health Center, Inc.; Family Health Center of Worcester, Inc.; Friends of the Shrewsbury Senior Center, Inc.; Genesis Club, Inc.; Jewish Family Service of Worcester; Pernet Family Health Service, Inc.; Rachel’s Table; Saint Paul’s Elder Outreach; Seven Hills Family Services; and Visitation House, Inc.
