Saint Vincent Hospital Takes Home Lamplighter Award

The New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) recently honored Saint Vincent Hospital of Worcester, MA for excellence in marketing, public relations and communications.

In particular, the Hospital was presented with an Award of Excellence in the internal periodicals category for its work on "InPulse," Saint Vincent Hospital's employee newsletter.

"We are all very proud of this special honor," noted Teri Hegarty, Saint Vincent Hospital's Manager of Marketing and Public Relations and the newsletter's editor.  "In addition to patient satisfaction, Saint Vincent Hospital has always been committed to employee engagement and satisfaction.  Communicating, educating, informing and acknowledging staff are all important aspects of this.  Each issue of our newsletter is put together with these goals in mind."

"Saint Vincent Hospital's employee newsletter was an example of the best and brightest work produced in our area," said Lee Reynolds Crouch, APR, president of NESHCo.  "The entry was creative, innovative and results-driven and showcased Saint Vincent Hospital extremely well."

The Lamplighters were established in 1974 to showcase and honor excellence in health care communications in the New England region.  The 2011 competition included more than 340 entries from more than 85 organizations throughout the area.  Entries were judged by the Minnesota Health Strategy and Communications Network.
