Washington, DC, May 8, 2013 – When it comes to patient safety, all hospitals andU.S. states aren’t created equal, according to the newly updated Hospital Safety ScoreSM.The Spring 2013 update to the Hospital Safety Score that assigns “A,” “B,” “C,”“D” or “F” grades to more than 2,500 general hospitals in the United Statesshowed hospitals have made only incremental progress in addressing errors,accidents, injuries and infections that kill or hurt their patients. Throughout its one-hundred-and-twenty-five years, Saint Vincent Hospital has been identified as a Catholic facility. Currently owned by Vanguard Health Systems, the hospital’s Catholic mission is overseen by the Diocese of Worcester. The Bishop of Worcester has designated the Catholic Restoration Apostolate (CRA) as the means by which the dignity of the human person and the eternal destiny of all will be maintained as uppermost in the medical care provided, in order that we attend to the needs of the heart and soul.
