Volunteer Opportunities at Saint Vincent Hospital
Greeter:
Greet, escort, give directions to patients/visitors, etc... Offer hospitality at the front entrances, provide a warm welcome and assist those in need. Openings are available for various days and times. Please call for more information.
Clerical Projects:
Both short-term and long-term projects are available, ranging from mailing, filing, computer work and data entry.

Central Transport Services:
Transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers, as well as other items to various areas within the hospital. Openings are available days, evenings, weekends.
Emergency Department:
Under supervision, the volunteer liaison will assist the professional nursing staff, physician and critical care technicians with patients requiring or requesting emergency care. The volunteer liaison will serve as a communication link, support person and mediator between medical staff, patients and family members.
Center for Women & Infants:
Volunteers serve as receptionists at the front desk (days, evenings, and various hours are available).
Patient Satisfaction Rounds/Advance Directives:
Volunteers will have quality face-to-face interations with patients on diverse units. They will have the opportunity to develop communication skills and provide education on various topics. Volunteers will identify patient satisfaction issues early in the patient's visit so that they may be corrected in a timely manner.
By helping patients complete an Advance Directive, volunteers provide a valuable service of assisting patients with preparing for a time when they are unable to make medical decisions by themselves.

Teen/College Volunteers
We welcome ages 14 and up to volunteer 2-4 hours per week. These volunteers help in patient care areas and in services for their families and the public. Many interesting assignments are available based on the student's experience, interests and availability. Contact volunteer services, 508-363-9490.
