Saint Vincent Hospital Names Nurse of the Month Winner May 2018

Worcester, MA – May 2, 2018 – Saint Vincent Hospital in Massachusetts is proud to nameMeg Starbard as the April 2018 Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses Recipient. 

Meg began her nursing career at Saint Vincent Hospital in January 2014. She currently works as a nurse on the orthopedics and neuro-surgical floor.

Meg was nominated for the award by a colleague who witnessed her compassionate care for a family during the loss of a loveddaisy award winner meg one.  The co-worker wrote: “Meg has always been a compassionate, dependable and skilled nurse. While a family was experiencing great emotion due to a loved one’s failing health, Meg took the time to provide care of the patient and also the family, emotionally and spiritually.” 

“We are so fortunate to have Meg with us at Saint Vincent Hospital,” shared Jeffrey M. Welch, chief executive officer.  “She is very passionate, delivers optimal care, and pays great attention to detail when caring for our patients.”

The Daisy Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a cancer patient who lost his battle after a brief period of time. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they stated a foundation to have a way to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manor.
