Swisher was hired at Saint Vincent Hospital on October 21, 1968. She held many positions at the hospital and her last role has been administrative assistant to the Chief of Radiology.

“Pat is the epitome of professionalism but never lets an opportunity to make someone laugh go by,” said Deborah O’Brien, Swisher’s supervisor. “She has a wonderful sense of humor and the most caring heart to go along with it. She truly is a saint.”

Swisher has a nickname that most in the department called her - SWISH. “We are a work family here,” shared O’Brien. “We grieve when one loses a loved one. We celebrate when one rejoices in the birth of a new family member. We cry when we say farewell to one so loved as SWISH is.” During Swisher’s retirement party, current and former colleagues all came together to wish her well.
