Saint Vincent Hospital Recognizes National Donate Life Month

Worcester, MA – April 11, 2018 – Saint Vincent Hospital in Massachusetts announces adonate life month celebration partnership with New England Donor Services to celebrate National Donate Life Month.  This April marks the 15th annual National Donate Life Month, a celebration honoring those who have given the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Part of the hospital’s commitment to this important campaign includes encouraging staff members to register as an organ and tissue donor. To learn more about donation and to sign up as a designated donor, visit www.registerme.org. 

Saint Vincent Blue and Green DaySaint Vincent Hospital hosted Blue & Green Day on April 13th in recognition of Donate Life Month. Please join us in supporting our involvement and in spreading this message that helps us to literally save lives.  

Interesting facts on organ donation:
  • Currently, 54 percent of the U.S. adult population are registered organ and tissue donors.
  • More than 116,000 people are waiting for a transplant and a second chance at life.
  • On average, 20 people die each day because the organ they need is not donated in time. That is almost one person dying every hour. Registering your decision to become a donor is the most effective way to save lives through donation and is a sign of support to those who continue to wait.
