The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), the labor union that represents some of our staff members in various departments including environmental services, transportation and our patient care techs, is passing out leaflets outside our hospital today.

This activity is related to contract negotiations between our hospital and the UFCW. We are disappointed that the union has chosen to do this instead of continuing to negotiate in good faith.

We value our relationship with all our employees, and we are committed to resolving the contract negotiations.  We remain focused on our primary mission – providing safe, quality care to our patients.

Get ready to renew your Medicaid coverage.

Make sure your contact information is up to date, check your mail for a letter and complete your renewal form (if you get one).

Saint Vincent Hospital’s Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive Collected 8,952 Servings of Cereal

Jul 19, 2019

Worcester, MA – June 19, 2019 – Saint Vincent Hospital is pleased to announce that it donated 8,952 servings of cereal to the Worcester County Food Bank during its Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive, which ran from June 7-14, 2019. The cereal and monetary donations were collected by hospital employees, MedPost employees, Worcester Technical High School, The Worcester Bravehearts and various other members of the community.

“The cereal and monetary donations we collected during our ‘Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive’ will provide a nutritious breakfast during the summer months to local families struggling with food insecurity. I cannot thank our staff and our community enough for the role they all played during this annual event” said JoAnn Piedrafite, Chief Nursing Officer at Saint Vincent Hospital. “We care deeply about the citizens of Worcester County and we want to do our part to combat hunger”.

“The summer months can be a difficult time for families that rely on school meals during the year” said Jean McMurray, Executive Director of Worcester County Food Bank. “Once again, Saint Vincent Hospital’s ‘Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive’ has been a wonderful support to Worcester County Food Bank and our neighbors struggling with hunger just as many families are grappling with the increased expense to feed their children. We are grateful.”
