The cereal and monetary donations were collected by hospital employees, MedPost employees, Worcester Technical High School, The Worcester Bravehearts and various other members of the community.
“The cereal and monetary donations we collected during our ‘Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive’ will provide a nutritious breakfast during the summer months to local families struggling with food insecurity. I cannot thank our staff and our community enough for the role they all played during this annual event” said JoAnn Piedrafite, Chief Nursing Officer at Saint Vincent Hospital. “We care deeply about the citizens of Worcester County and we want to do our part to combat hunger”.
“The summer months can be a difficult time for families that rely on school meals during the year” said Jean McMurray, Executive Director of Worcester County Food Bank. “Once again, Saint Vincent Hospital’s ‘Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive’ has been a wonderful support to Worcester County Food Bank and our neighbors struggling with hunger just as many families are grappling with the increased expense to feed their children.
