Tenet names COO of Massachusetts market, hospital

Tenet Healthcare has promoted Darrin Cook from interim to permanent chief operating officer of its Massachusetts market and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass. Mr. Cook has served as interim COO for the past four months, according to a May 31 news release from Saint Vincent's sister facility, Framingham, Mass.-based MetroWest Medical Center. He has more than 20 years of healthcare experience and previously held administrative director positions at Tenet's Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center and Renown Health's Institute for Heart and Vascular Health in Reno, Nev. Additionally, he spent six years on active duty as a medical specialist with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Cook's appointment is one of multiple leadership changes in the Dallas-based system's Massachusetts market this year, including a new human resources chief at Saint Vincent.
