Saint Vincent Hospital Celebrates Nurses Week 2022
May 6, 2022Worcester, MA – Saint Vincent Hospital is proud to honor our nurses during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, an annual celebration that recognizes the critical role nurses perform in our hospitals and for our community. This year, we recognize our nurses for their continued commitment and unfailing dedication to our patients and their families, and for always being our foundation of healing.
“We are grateful to all of our nurses and humbled by the caring and professionalism they demonstrate every day,” said Chief Executive Officer Carolyn Jackson. “They often serve as the first point of contact for our patients and their families during their time of greatest need, providing compassion and healing. Their resilience, leadership, and essential contributions are at the heart of our continued focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our community.”
Our nurses have many roles – staff nurse, nursing leader, educator, infection preventionist, nurse practitioner and more, and they serve these roles with a passion for the profession and a strong commitment to patient safety.
National Nurses Week is celebrated annually to coincide with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, on May 12. Like Florence Nightingale, our nurses have served with passion and dedication, fighting for their patients during the pandemic. Today, as Florence Nightingale did in her time, our nurses represent a profession of advocacy and strength and are respected for their unwavering devotion to our patients, their families and each other.
“Saint Vincent recognizes, acknowledges, and trusts the strong commitment, compassion, expertise and care our nurses display in their practice and profession,” Jackson said. “We rely on them for guidance, support, and expertise in keeping our patients, staff, and community safe and healthy.”
