Saint Vincent Hospital Names Ann Marie Pecora Nurse of the Month Winner

Worcester, MA – March 28, 2019 – Saint Vincent Hospital in Massachusetts is proud to name Ann Marie Pecora as the March 2019 Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses Recipient.

Pecora began her nursing career at Saint Vincent Hospital in November 1992. She currently works as a nurse in the Center for Women and Infants.

Pecora was nominated for the award by a recent patient for the care she provided not only to the patient, but also the kindness shown to the patient’s family.

“Ann Marie is frequently recognized by her patients for outstanding care and teaching,” shared Gail Walker, Interim Director of the Center for Women and Infants at Saint Vincent Hospital. “Her peers often comment on her keen assessment and clinical skills. She works closely with her patients to establish goals for the shift. Ann Marie has embraced the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and supports mothers with rooming in, safe infant feeding and skin-to-skin care.”

The Daisy Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a cancer patient who lost his battle after a brief period of time. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they stated a foundation to have a way to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manor.
