WORCESTER, MA (April 18, 2017) – Saint Vincent Hospital earns an “A” Hospital Safety Score from The Leapfrog Group, a non-profit patient safety advocacy organization. The spring 2017 Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries and infections, is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts in patient safety. This is Saint Vincent’s seventh consecutive “A” since the inception of the ratings three years ago.
“At Saint Vincent Hospital, we are committed to making sure our patients feel comfortable in knowing they are receiving the best treatment in the safest possible environment,” said Steven MacLauchlan, CEO of Saint Vincent. “Our ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group is a testament to that commitment.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
