Saint Vincent Medical Group Welcomes Desio Sports Medicine
Jan 17, 2023Worcester, MA – Saint Vincent Medical Group welcomes Dr. Stephen Desio, of Desio Sports Medicine, a Division of Saint Vincent Medical Group Orthopedics.
Dr. Stephen Desio has practiced sports medicine and general orthopedics for 28 years and currently sees patients out of his Saint Vincent office at 123 Summer Street, Suite 520, Worcester. Dr. Desio is Board-Certified in both Orthopedic Surgery, as well as Sports Medicine. He specializes in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery of the knee and shoulder, including ACL Reconstruction and Rotator Cuff surgery.
With a customized approach, Dr. Desio’s primary goal is to educate his patients and provide the tools needed to help patients return safely and quickly to their sport or activity. Dr. Desio is proud to provide patients with his high quality of care, utilizing advanced technology available to reduce pain, heal an injury and help with a speedy recovery. He is pleased to offer advanced sports medicine physical therapy programs for the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine at the University of Utah, Dr. Desio has the distinction of being a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Medical Association, Massachusetts Medical Society and the Worcester District Medical Society.
Dr. Desio is a 5-time Ironman Triathlete. He has also served as Team Physician for the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics, Worcester Tornadoes Baseball Team, New England Surge Arena Football Team, NCAA 1st and 2nd round Basketball Tournament, and University of Utah Football and Basketball teams. Dr. Desio has published papers on Sports Medicine in nationally recognized journals and presented his research at international meetings. When not in the office, Dr. Desio can be found competing in recreational ski racing, Triathlons, or running marathons.
