Help for Your Kidney Function

When your kidneys are no longer able to function properly, kidney dialysis services at Saint Vincent Hospital can help. You can find dialysis services at the Saint Vincent Hospital Dialysis Unit at Worcester Medical Center, a licensed member of the End Stage Renal Disease Network. We also provide hemodialysis treatments to patients in the emergency room for fluid overload, electrolyte imbalance or other problems needing emergency care.

How Kidney Dialysis Helps

Dialysis is a procedure that eliminates waste and unwanted water from the blood, enabling people with kidney failure to substitute many of the normal functions of the kidneys and continue to lead productive lives. There are two types of dialysis: hemodialysis (blood filtered outside the body) and peritoneal dialysis (blood filtered with a special cleaning solution inside the body).
