We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. To do so, we are actively working with consultants to update the website by increasing its accessibility and usability by persons who use assistive technologies
such as automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen readers.
We are working to have the website conform to the relevant standards of the Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards developed by the United States Access Board, as
well as the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These standards and guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. We believe that conformance with these standards and
guidelines will help make the website more user friendly for all people.
Our efforts are ongoing. While we strive to have the website adhere to these guidelines and standards, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage, please contact WebsiteAccess@tenethealth.com so that we may be of assistance.
Most medical experts agree that mothers-to-be benefit greatly from prenatal care. In fact, women who visit their health care provider regularly during pregnancy have healthier babies, are less likely to deliver prematurely and are less likely to have other serious medical problems related to pregnancy. To help ensure you receive proper prenatal care, Saint Vincent Hospital's Women's Health Center offers both prenatal and well-woman gynecologic care.
The Health Center is staffed by Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) who have collaborative relationships with Ob/Gyn specialists at Saint Vincent Hospital. CNMs are registered nurses who successfully complete an accredited graduate education program and pass a national certification exam. CNMs provide women’s health care throughout life, from adolescence through menopause. Your midwife will provide you with individualized care guided by evidence-based practices that have been tested and proven successful.
At the Women’s Health Center, we offer:
Pregnancy tests and/or testing to confirm how far along the pregnancy is
Physical exams to evaluate the health status of the mother and baby
Prenatal, delivery and postpartum care with a CNM
Nutrition counseling and other related support services as needed
Well-woman health care
