Dr. Ankur Parikh, MD is board certified by the American Board of Urology. His expertise includes Kidney Stones, Benign Englargement of the Prostate and Prostate and Renal Cancers.
As a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Parikh MD also completed a Urology Residency Program and a General Surgery Internship at Geisinger Medical Center. He is certified to perform and interpret ultrasounds of the prostate, kidney, testis and bladder. Dr. Parikh MD is also certified to use the DaVinci Xl and Sl Robotic Surgical Systems. His many publications include such research as The Safety of Aspirin in the Perioperative Period after Robotic Prostatectomy and Nephrectomy as well as topics on Prostate Cancer and Statin Induced Autophagy.

Lorrainie is the nurse who removed my Foley catheter and conducted a voiding test during this visit. Lorrainie is excellent - I've worked with her a few times now in both the Worcester and Marlborough offices. Although my appointment was initially with Lorrainie, the registered nurse, I asked if I could also have a few words with Dr. Parikh before I left the office. Dr. Parikh is my urologist and he was the surgeon for the prostate Aquablation procedure I had on July 28, 2023. Dr. Parikh came and talked to me in his usual calm, forthright, and professional manner. He helped reassure me that my surgery recovery was on track and that I could be optimistic about the days ahead during the recovery period.

I first went to U. Mass/Main campus in Worcester on a Thursday night with severe pain in the back, they had me wait in the waiting area from 7p-11p till they brought me into a room and shortly after that a doctor came in and checked me out and put am IV into my arm with some pain medicine and for nausea. when finished I felt fine. they released me around 12:30a. On the following Saturday night into Sunday morning I had severe pain again and went to the U.Mass Marlboro campus and they took me right in and had me give a urine sample and brought me into a room in the emergency room and a doctor Ibrahin came in and said I have blood in my urine and told me he thought I have kidney stones and scheduled a cat scan and had the cat scan and it revealed I had a 16mm stone lodged next to my bladder. I was so impressed with the staff and Doctor at the Marlboro U. Mass hospital. Everyone from the time I walked in in severe pain they were very professional and explained everything they were going to do and when I left the hospital I was told to contact Dr. Panikh and make an appointment with him at the office. I did contact the doctor on Monday morning at 8:00a when his office opened. I got a call from Terry that morning and I was asked if I could see the doctor on that Monday at 4:15p and went and had the appointment and the doctor did schedule my appointment for Thursday and I was contacted on Tuesday and said I will have the procedure done at 8:15a on tomorrow morning.
