Why SVH Rad: I enjoy the excellent teaching from both attendings and residents. The warm and welcoming environment cultivated by the Radiology department and the case reviews every Friday.

Full name: Emiliya Boriskina, DO
Internship: St. John’s Riverside Hospital
Medical school: Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Why SVH Rad: SVH was a program that felt warm and ready to teach. They had a unique atmosphere where the residents and attendings were all together in the reading room, which very few programs do. It was clear as well that this was a great place to work as many former residents returned as attendings. Plus, it was close to family.

Why SVH Rad: I chose SVH for its strong culture of mentorship, autonomy, and long-term commitment to its trainees. The number of alumni who return as faculty after fellowship stood out to me because it reflects a program where people genuinely value the environment and relationships they build. With direct attending teaching, broad procedural exposure, and no fellows competing for learning opportunities, residents are able to gain early hands-on experience and develop confidence throughout their training.

Why SVH Rad: St. Vincents is an opportunity to continue to train where I currently call home, many of the attendings are themselves former trainees and that speaks volumes for the program.  The strength of the post graduate placement also solidified my choice.  Ultimately the program appears to have an excellent track record, and I expect will provide an excellent training pathway.
